People living with Type 2 Diabetes are at an increased risk for heart disease, kidney disease, stroke, neuropathy, retinopathy, infections, and amputations.

The healthcare landscape is changing. Artificial intelligence, improving accuracy of smart sensors, and changes in the regulatory landscape are allowing for a shift to telemedicine for many medical specialties.

Five senses as a framework

We researched the potential technology available now or in the near future to track important Diabetic disease progression using the five senses.

3. HYPOTHESIS

By providing in-home preventative care & around-the-clock monitoring of individuals with Type 2 Diabetes health, the number of visits to doctors’ offices and hospitals can be drastically reduced, in turn, improve quality of life and health outcomes for individuals living with Type 2 Diabetes.
